I'm proud to be a cantonese! I love TVB drama serials and i love canto songs! Hmm, like Beyond and many more. Canto is such a nice dialect and to me, its the most decent one amongst any other dialects. Not that i'm bias or wat lah. I'm soaked in the whole canto environment. And i am still soaking myself in it.
My parents speak canto at home, grandma and all my relatives speak canto. Some of my cousins are speaking canto my aunts and uncles. :) Whao! Both my parents are canto. My grandma is from China, Guangzhou. While my grandpa was from China, Hainan, i think. I've never see him before. Not even when i'm a baby. But i have this feeling that he is good. :)
My mum says that my dad only knew how to speak canto when they were dating during their days. I was like 'Hur? ONly Canto?' He's so 'pro'. Hmm, after we were borned, my dad began learning mandarin together with us! Hah, he's mandarin is still a lil' lousy thou'.
After living in such a canto environment, my canto has since improved a lil'. Frequent watching of canto serials have also helped me along. Thanks to them! And all the songs i've heard.
