What have I accomplished in the year of 2006? Time to reflect a bit.
For school, 6 months attachment in school. A whole lot of fun, although there maybe the stress period. That's live isnt it?
Our newly named Firewire Productions. shan't say more about it...
My japanese lesson! Finally going up to intermediate level!

same routine over at SIP. but that particular day was slightly different. i've got to call to Nihon. Yep... finally my japanese is put up to good use.
first time calling to Nihon. Scared. i was hovering or rather roaming around the office phone. sitting down in front of it for 5 mins then stood up and walked back to the laptop and back to the phone again. I did that quite a number of times. yeah... that was about 10am.
soon, more and more collegues came in although there's only 6 or 7 of them in total. Oh my god... I'm always being paranoid of people listening at me when I'm on the phone. Finally when i got the courage to dial the numbers, all I heard of an operator saying that the number is not in use. Well, NAS gave me the wrong number of Mainichi Shimbun.
Clever me found another number, which was the correct one. Dialled through to Japan and heard an unfamiliar accent. 'Moshi Moshi'. I fumbled. who wouldnt?
First thing I asked was..' Eego ga hanase masu ka.'
(trans: Do you know how to speak English?') The answer was 'Iie' which means NO!!! I panicked even more now... Tongue tight. For that moment I cant differentiate the difference of arimasu and imasu. Blurted, 'Oshima Reiko san was arimasu ka.' Then, 'Iie, iie... imasu ka.' That was so paiseh!!!
Luckily, she transferred the line to another lady. Though she doesnt speak Eego, she was really kind enough to get an Eego speaking guy to talk to me. Phew!!! Relieved!!!! He's Aaron from Mainichi Shimbun. Thanks ya!
